FAQ Children
What is the right age to begin orthodontic treatment?
Children should come for an initial orthodontic evaluation no later than age 7, the age recommended by the Canadian Association of Orthodontists. Problems with jaw growth and tooth eruption can be detected while some baby teeth are still present. Early treatment can prevent complicated treatment later on, reduce later treatment time and improve overall results.
If your child is too young for treatment, he or she will be monitored through our follow-up system until the ideal time has arrived. In most cases, orthodontic treatment is started when all the permanent teeth have erupted.
